Ana<br \/>saptaki bo\u011fum ve buna ba\u011fl\u0131 olarak yaprak say\u0131s\u0131 fazlad\u0131r.<br \/>\u00c7eltik bitkilerinde karde\u015flenme ilk sap\u0131n en alt bo\u011fumundan ba\u015flar. Karde\u015f say\u0131s\u0131 zaman ge\u00e7tik\u00e7e artar ve<br \/>topra\u011f\u0131 kaplar. Karacada\u011f \u00c7elti\u011finde karde\u015f say\u0131s\u0131 5-12 aras\u0131nda de\u011fi\u015fmektedir. Karde\u015flerin salk\u0131m ba\u011flama oran\u0131<br \/>ekolojinin uygunlu\u011fu nedeniyle \u00e7ok y\u00fcksektir. Bitki biyolojik verimi 150-400 g\/bitki civar\u0131ndad\u0131r. Dekara tane<br \/>verimi ise 220-600 kg aras\u0131nda de\u011fi\u015fmektedir. Karacada\u011f \u00c7elti\u011finde ortalama bitki ba\u015f\u0131na salk\u0131m say\u0131s\u0131 2-10; her<br \/>salk\u0131mda ortalama tane say\u0131s\u0131 ise 34-83 adet aras\u0131nda de\u011fi\u015fmektedir. Her salk\u0131mdan harman sonras\u0131nda ortalama<br \/>1,18-2,39 g \u00fcr\u00fcn elde edilmektedir.<br \/>Karacada\u011f \u00c7elti\u011finin \u00e7\u0131k\u0131\u015ftan hasada dek ge\u00e7en toplam vejetasyon s\u00fcresi 140-150 g\u00fcn civar\u0131ndad\u0131r.<br \/>Salk\u0131mlanma tarihi \u00e7\u0131k\u0131\u015ftan yakla\u015f\u0131k 120-125 g\u00fcn sonra ger\u00e7ekle\u015fmektedir. Karacada\u011f \u00c7elti\u011finin verimli topraklara<br \/>ve g\u00fcbrelemeye tepkisi fazla y\u00fcksek de\u011fildir. Verimli topraklarda yatma g\u00f6sterir.<br \/>\u00c7i\u00e7ek \u00d6zellikleri:<br \/>\u00c7i\u00e7ek toplulu\u011fu sap\u0131n ucunda yer alan ve erselik \u00e7i\u00e7ekleri ta\u015f\u0131yan kar\u0131\u015f\u0131k salk\u0131m formundad\u0131r (panicula). Bir<br \/>bitkide ortalama 3-7 adet aras\u0131nda tane ba\u011flayan salk\u0131m olu\u015fur. Her salk\u0131mda yeti\u015ftirme ko\u015fullar\u0131na g\u00f6re de\u011fi\u015firse<br \/>de ortalama 50-100 dolaylar\u0131nda tane olu\u015fur. Bitki boyu ile salk\u0131m uzunlu\u011fu aras\u0131nda olumlu ve \u00f6nemli ili\u015fki vard\u0131r.<br \/>Salk\u0131m \u00fczerinde yer alan her ba\u015fak\u00e7\u0131k (spicula) \u00e7eltikte ayn\u0131 zamanda bir tek \u00e7i\u00e7ek demektir. Bir \u00e7i\u00e7ek, kay\u0131k<br \/>bi\u00e7iminde bir i\u00e7kavuz (palea inferior) ile benzeri bi\u00e7im ve yap\u0131daki bir kap\u00e7\u0131k (palea superior) taraf\u0131ndan sar\u0131l\u0131d\u0131r.<br \/>Bu kavuzlar\u0131n ikisine birden \u201c\u00e7i\u00e7ek kavuzlar\u0131\u201d ad\u0131 verilir. Ba\u015fak\u00e7\u0131k taban\u0131nda bir \u00e7ift d\u0131\u015f kavuz (gluma inferior ve<br \/>gluma superior) bulunur. D\u0131\u015f kavuzlar \u00e7ok k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fclm\u00fc\u015f m\u0131zrak bi\u00e7iminde olup, boylar\u0131 \u00e7i\u00e7ek kavuzlar\u0131n\u0131n yakla\u015f\u0131k<br \/>1\/3\u2019\u00fc kadard\u0131r. \u00c7eltikte 6 tane erkek \u00e7i\u00e7ek tozu kesesi vard\u0131r. Di\u015fi organ bir yumurtal\u0131k (ovarium), di\u015ficik borusu ve<br \/>di\u015ficik tepesini (stigma) kapsar. Ba\u015fak\u00e7\u0131k i\u00e7inde dipte bir \u00e7ift pulcuk (lodicula) yer al\u0131r. Ba\u015fak\u00e7\u0131kta i\u00e7 kavuzun orta<br \/>damar\u0131n\u0131n uzant\u0131s\u0131 olarak geli\u015fen bir k\u0131l\u00e7\u0131k bulunur. K\u0131l\u00e7\u0131kl\u0131l\u0131k \u00e7evre ko\u015fullar\u0131n\u0131n geni\u015f \u00e7apta etkiledi\u011fi bir<br \/>karakterdir. Bir bitkinin de\u011fi\u015fik salk\u0131mlar\u0131ndaki ve ayn\u0131 salk\u0131m\u0131n de\u011fi\u015fik ba\u015fak\u00e7\u0131klar\u0131ndaki k\u0131l\u00e7\u0131klar\u0131n geli\u015fmesi<br \/>farkl\u0131l\u0131k g\u00f6sterir. Genellikle su ve s\u0131cakl\u0131k bak\u0131m\u0131ndan elveri\u015fsiz \u00e7evre ko\u015fullar\u0131 \u00e7eltikte k\u0131l\u00e7\u0131kl\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131 art\u0131r\u0131r. \u00c7eltik<br \/>kendine d\u00f6llenen (autogam) bir bitkidir. Fakat en \u00e7ok %3-4 oran\u0131nda yabanc\u0131 tozlanma da g\u00f6r\u00fclebilir.<br \/>Tane \u00d6zellikleri:<br \/>Bir \u00e7eltik tanesi, karyopsis ile onu yap\u0131\u015fmaks\u0131z\u0131n s\u0131k\u0131ca saran i\u00e7 kavuz ve kap\u00e7\u0131ktan olu\u015fur. Bu kavuzlar<br \/>\u00e7elti\u011fin harman\u0131 sonunda da karyopsisten ayr\u0131lmaz.<br \/>Olgunla\u015fm\u0131\u015f \u00e7eltik tanesinde boy ve bi\u00e7im \u00e7evre ko\u015fullar\u0131ndan en az etkilenen karakterlerdir. Saman sar\u0131s\u0131<br \/>ve a\u00e7\u0131k kahve tonlar\u0131 aras\u0131nda de\u011fi\u015fen Karacada\u011f \u00e7elti\u011finde kavuzlu tanenin boyu 6-7 mm civar\u0131nda geni\u015fli\u011fi ise 4-<br \/>5 mm civar\u0131ndad\u0131r. Pirin\u00e7 fabrikalar\u0131nda \u00e7elti\u011fin i\u015flenmesinden sonra elde edilen sa\u011flam pirin\u00e7 tanesi 4-6 mm tane<br \/>uzunlu\u011fu, 3-4 mm tane geni\u015fli\u011fine sahip olup, mat beyaz, a\u00e7\u0131k sar\u0131 renktedir. Bin tane a\u011f\u0131rl\u0131\u011f\u0131 20-32 g aras\u0131nda<br \/>de\u011fi\u015fmektedir.
